Full Description
For the money, they’re savvy musical performers with a great sense of scale and an even greater appetite for presenting music in a transparent and mature manner. But are they speakers capable of worrying the current class-leaders? Most definitely.
Designed with stand mounting in mind, the BR03 is a centrepiece bookshelf speaker suited for spectacle. Aspiring to provide the performance capabilities of much larger floorstanding speakers in a compact footprint, Triangle have tenaciously engineered midrange drivers from an untreated cellulose paper membrane. This technology has trickled down from the premium Esprit EZ range, merged into a bold bookshelf speaker that provides you value at a lower price range.
Measuring at approximately 21cm wide by 38cm high, the BR03 imbues the room with energy, well defined in spaces anywhere from 15 – 30m squared and capable of providing a much wider listening sweet spot regardless of positioning thanks to its tweeter technology. From vocals to crescendos and every subtle note in-between, speaker performance and power handling is impressively conducted.
Designed to fill the room
The next generation of Borea, all the speakers in this range have been fitted with EFS (Efficient Flow System) enabled tweeters. With a basic foundation made from a 25mm silk dome, the system has been implemented to widen the listening sweet spot. In combination with a partial horn loading, details remain crisps whilst being transitioned into the wider room. Along with a range of components that promote handling, you can rely on the BR03 to diffuse tonally expressive high frequencies and effortless crossover.
Cellulose driver, realistic tonality
The midrange single midrange driver featured in the Borea BR03 Active speaker borrows from innovations of the higher Triangle Esprit EZ range. Crafted from a cellulose paper membrane, the midrange is imbued with a definitive natural presence and a smoother dynamic range, without frequency coloration. In addition to the dual forward-firing bass reflex design of the cabinet, the driver is able to push deeper and deliver an impressive frequency response whilst retaining its rigidity.
A rigid foundation
All the speakers in the Triangle Borea range share in the same cabinet design philosophy, featuring internal bracing and panels of perforated, high-density MDF and EVA foam, which provides a defence against harmonic distortion and resonance, but also significantly diminishes vibrations from the drivers when in operation. This results in better accuracy, adding to the sense of scale that the BR03 is capable of providing.
